"Business travel isn't always fun, but walking back into the Cardinal after a long flight or a lengthy business meeting is like turning the key to my own front door. Except at the Cardinal, I don't have to walk my dog!!

When I walk through the front door of the Cardinal, I feel like I'm "home." The warmly decorated and expansive lobby with plenty of seating, the first-name "Welcome Back!" from the front office staff, the great coffee, newspapers and magazines, the beautiful sprays of fresh cut flowers...I could go on. Feels like home.

What other hotel can you call and the entire staff knows your entire family by name, which room you prefer, and which restaurant you prefer? Not because that information is "in the system"... but because they care!"

"Our visitors (particularly those from abroad) feel comfortable at the Cardinal Hotel - its location gives them the independence to visit the shops and restaurants downtown and to get in to campus (by bus or by foot) on their own. But the personalized service is what sets the Cardinal Hotel apart. Our visitors are greeted by a thinking, personable individual (not one in a succession of uniformed trainees). When they leave a parka or an alarm clock, they get it back. One scientist built such a connection over the years that he presented an autographed copy of his book to hotel staff when it was (finally) finished. Best for me as an administrator, they are the easiest motel or hotel to work with, without qualification."
